In California, many Medicaid recipients receive home-and-community-based services (HCBS) in the form of home care aids. Family members can also receive payment as home care aids to these Medicaid recipients.
This article describes an analysis of the data on first-time HCBS recipients to see which factors were associated with switching home care aids to provide a better understanding of what policymakers can do to help maintain continuity of care for Medicaid recipients who receive HCBS.
