The student hotspotting learning model allows students to connect with patients who have complex health needs so that those students can build their competence and confidence in dealing with complex health situations. While the student hotspotting model has been shown to be effective, little is known about its long-term effects.
This brief describes a study that conducted interview with alumni and faculty who participated in the student hotspotting program during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 school years to evaluate what factors contributed to program success as well as the impacts of the program on professional practice.
